About Razor Group
Razor Group is an Amazon aggregator — an acquirer of Amazon and other e-commerce brands — built by founders with prior high-profile e-commerce successes. Young, ambitious and deliberately sophisticated, the company set out to reach one billion euros in revenue within two years of launch and has been overtaking far larger established players on the way.
Around 100 Razor-acquired entities — a number that keeps rising — require VAT compliance across the EU and beyond, including Germany, the UK, Spain and Italy. Razor came to Taxually after disappointing service delivery from several major global competitors.
The challenge
This was an enterprise-scale test. Individual entities in the portfolio generate hundreds of thousands of transactions a month; in aggregate the volume runs into millions, and it was set to grow quickly. Razor needed consolidated, automated processes that would push consistency up and manual intervention down — across a broad and constantly expanding portfolio of acquired businesses.
Why Taxually
Two things decided it. Razor’s existing VAT support was underperforming, and Taxually could demonstrate advanced capability at exactly the right moment. The platform proved quick to launch and genuinely self-explanatory: new joiners became productive immediately, without dedicated training. Taxually also showed real agility in adjusting the software to Razor’s specific needs.
What changed
Razor estimated ten people would be needed to support corporate VAT compliance. At transition, three had been hired — and with Taxually’s processes in place that headcount covers the work with some redundancy, a 70% FTE reduction. Issues raised are acknowledged and in progress within one working day, and where reprocessing is needed the turnaround is now minutes rather than the previous supplier’s 12 to 48 hours.
“Taxually is, in my opinion, everything your competitors promise. The solution really convinced us. Onboarding of companies is smooth. Scaling is possible at the pace we need. Technology is supported by a true personal touch, so we don’t have to make a choice between a platform driven or people-based service — we get both.”
